Introduction For my personal opinion, the main goal for me to continue typing in this blog rather than scoring marks in my film studies subject, is to enrich my knowledge about each and every film I have watched or I am going to watch. Through this practise, I am able to analyse film scenes and shots by paying attention on what I had learnt in lecture and apply them in when I need. Movie that has been chosen this week is Final Destination, directed by a Hong Kong director, James Wong. It is an American supernatural horror film. I actually find that it is more like massacre from the nature force rather than horrific. This film comes in a series of different stories. It has total of 5 films under its series at this moment. The film that is going to be analysis is the first ever episode in this series. Some of the viewers posted advices on the internet which sounds something like “Final Destination has tonnes of intense scenes such as blood or gore or death scenes”. Synopsis: This story is about a high school student, Alex Browning, who detected that the explosion of the airplane and traumatic deaths of the passengers. There is a series of dramatic and interesting ways of death of different people along this film. They found that there is actually a pattern for all the characters to die. Ever imagined your life as an arcade game? This movie is definitely one of those extraordinary kinds of movies I've ever watched. Unlike the flow of usual movie films, this film is talking about a Scott Pilgrim fall in love with a girl that happened to occur in his dream once, which is Ramona Flowers, and need to battle all her seven evil exes in order to date her. Synopsis: Movie for this week is about a teenage boy, Scott Pilgrim, a bassist in the band Sex-Bob-Omb, had an adventurous yet unexpected experience in chasing an American girl, Ramona Flowers. Scott is first dating an Asian high school girl, Knives Chau. Then Scott started to develop his interest in this girl Ramona, after he dreamt about her once and saw her right after his dream. Scott first got attacked by one of Ramona’s boyfriend, then learnt that in order to date Ramona, Scott has to defeat all her evil exes. Super 8, which is an American science-fiction movie that produced by Steven Spielberg at year 2011. This film included quite many kinds of genres and it is about few youngsters who are making their own Super 8 movie, which then brought quite some mysterious events to their town. The theory that is going to be applied into this discussion is usage of mise-en-scene within a chosen scene. Synopsis: The movie started with the scene of mourning the death of Elizabeth, mother to Joe Lamb (Joel Courtney) and wife to Deputy Sheriff Jack Lamb (Kyle Chandler). Her death is all blamed-on Louis Dainard (Ron Eldard), co-worker of Elizabeth. Few months after that, Joe helps his best friend Charles Kazynk (Riley Griffiths) to film a zombie movie.
